The Turkish shipyard Cefine delivers cattle carrier designed in Odesa

ODESA, APRIL 23rd, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The shipyard Cefine, Turkey, has delivered cattle carrier designed Marine Engineering Bureau, in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Marine Engineering Bureau reported today, 23 April.

According to the press service, the vessel was designed to transport of cattle (up to six thousand heads of cattle) on 8 decks along the routes of South America — Middle East and Australia — Middle East.

The vessel is a single-screw nine-decked ship with an overall length of 120.2 meters, a width of 21 m, with a solid superstructure along the entire length of the vessel (depth to the upper deck of 14.5 m), with the aft engine room, with a living, and the bridge superstructure in the bow parts, with the double bottom, double sides, with the ice breaking bow and transom aft ends, with a minimum freeboard.

The operational speed of the vessel is 14.5 knots. The crew consists of 14 people and 26 people to service the transported livestock. It is equipped with two lifeboats with a capacity for 40 people each, two inflatable life rafts with capacity for 20 people each.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
