14:36 / 20.06.2012

ODESA, JUNE 20th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The footballer Andriy Voronin, who was born in Odesa, has finished his professional football career, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

A number of Ukrainian media reported, with reference to his statement.

As announced, Andriy Shevchenko of Dynamo Kyiv and Andriy Voronin Dynamo Moscow have completed their career in the Ukrainian National Team.

“I said before the European Championship, I would end my career in the team. I am no longer young, for ten years I have played in the national team. I want to concentrate on club career, pay more attention to the family. There is dissatisfaction with the outcome ― in fact our task was to get out of the group. I’ve got an unpleasant aftertaste, but we must look ahead. We have felt what a real football holiday is. Probably in the next 20―30 years Ukraine will not have such a holiday. Now I feel mentally exhausted. I’m going to Kyiv and then Odesa. I hope to go on vacation for two weeks. And then to Moscow. I have a contract with Dynamo, and if nothing changes, go back to the location of the command”, said A. Voronin.
