ODESA, AUGUST 29th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Olympic champion Yuriy Cheban has been awarded half a million hryvnyas by the Odesa Regional Council, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

According to the press service of Odesa Regional State Administration, the decision was taken yesterday, 28 August, during the session of the Odesa Regional Council.

The press service noted that the money promised by the Governor of Odesa Region Eduard Matviychuk, will be paid to Olympic champion in UAH equivalent. A total of UAH 485 thousand, including the payment of taxes, was decided to be paid.

In addition, the cash UAH 240 thousand will be allocated to the Honoured Couach of the USSR and Ukraine, the coach of Olympic champion Vyacheslav Sorokin.
