ODESA, OCTOBER 18th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The first international conference dedicated to the transportation of dangerous goods has been held in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa Commercial Sea Port’s press service reported today, 18 October.

According to the press service, the first international conference dedicated to the transportation of dangerous goods was held in Odesa. Representatives of 36 Ukrainian carriers and bodies of power, transport administrations of Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, other CIS countries, Latvia and Bulgaria participated in the conference.

Head of the Central Cargo Bureau (the organization issued certificates for the carriage of dangerous goods) Mikhail Veprev noted a need for creating a coordinating and analysis centre. It will regulate the problem points not covered by the legislation.

The Director of the Security Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Gerzhod said the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine within two months will initiate the public organization to deal with issues of transportation of dangerous goods. Members of this organization will formulate problems arising in the joint work of senders, carriers and receivers.
