KHERSON, NOVEMBER 6th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― 12 teams have taken part in the International Tmutarakan Rallies Extreme Marathon held 3-4 November in Kherson, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Kherson City Council reported today, 6 November.

According to the information, V International Tmutarakan Rallies extreme-marathon, organized by the Living History and Reconstruction Centre «Oleshye» was held in Kherson.

The organizers noted, marathon was held in 2 days and 1 night stages. The competition was attended by 12 teams from Kyiv, Moscow, Odesa, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, Vinnitsa and Kherson regions.

The participants started the marathon on Saturday, 3 November, at 2 p.m., without modern things of civilization, in the costumes, created by historical 8-13 centuries analogues. It was finished on Sunday at 2 p.m. The teams passed 50 km through the wind, sand, lakes and woods.

The teams presented the reconstruction of early medieval Kievan Rus, Novgorod principality, Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark), nomadic Alans and late medieval France.

The winner was the team from Chernivtsi. They presented the Vikings of early medieval period. The team consisted of three boys and two girls.
