ODESA, NOVEMBER 23rd, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Head of the Committee on European Integration of the Verkhovna Rada and Director of the Institute for Euro-Atlantic cooperation Borys Tarasyuk has noted international prestige of Ukraine fell in the general context of the retreat from democratic achievements of Ukrainian authority, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The Head of the Committee stated today, 23 November, during the public hearings “Ukraine’s European perspective after elections 2012”.

“The first time in 15 years, the EU-Ukraine summit is not carried out this year. It is not typical for the relations between Ukraine and the EU. It reflects the general situation. International prestige of Ukraine fell not only because of the recent parliamentary elections, but in the context of the retreat from democratic achievements of Ukrainian authority after the victory of democracy in the Orange Revolution in 2004. But the policy of the Eastern Partnership is still developing”, he noted.
