ODESA, NOVEMBER 29th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Rector of Odesa National Mechnikov University Igor Koval has met the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine Second Secretary Mr Turo Mattila, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

ONU press service reported today, 29 November.

“We will assist in informing the possibilities of Odesa University and in development of educational partnership between the two countries”, Mr Turo Mattila noted at the meeting.

“Our university cooperates with universities and educational centres of Finland for more than 40 years, in particular, with the University of Oulu in theoretical and experimental physics fields”, Igor Koval mentioned.

The press service noted the contacts with the University of Turku were activated in recent years. The consortium with this university, ONU won three Erasmus Mundus project. Today Odesa students successfully have internships in Finland.

In the framework of the visit, the Finnish diplomat met bachelors of the International Relations Department of Institute for Social Sciences, ONU and read them a lecture on the foreign policy of the country and the impact of Finland on EU-Ukrainian relations.
