ODESA, DECEMBER 20th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Consul General of Poland to Odesa Mrs Joanna Strzelczyk has stated the Consulate General actively participates in the cultural life of Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
Mrs Joanna Strzelczyk reported yesterday, 19 December, during the press conference.
“In 2012, as previous years, we had several cyclical cultural events. Cultural issues are very important. Once again, in May, in the framework of the Days of Poland in Odesa a series of events were held. Also Days of Poland took place in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Pervomaisk. The 13th Polish Film Festival was held in Odesa. Quite large Polish diaspora lives in Odesa and Odesa region. They actively participate in all kinds of cultural events. The representatives of the Consulate General take active part in the Days of the city in Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson. All events are held with the support of the local authorities, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the regional administration. We are very grateful to all those who help us in carrying out these activities, because they are intended for strengthening our good relationships. Also in the framework of cultural cooperation, we actively work with Odesa universities, first with Odesa National Mechnikov University”, the Consul General noted.
