ODESA, FEBRUARY 28th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Track and field race “Herald of Spring” in memory of Volodymyr Pogorelov will be held 23 March in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information Office reported today, 28 February.

According to the Office, people of all ages and sports skills can participate in the marathon “Herald of Spring”, which will be held on the Health Road on March 23.

The purpose of the competition is to promote the healthy life-style, attract people to physical activity and active living as well as a support and implementation of various social and charitable programmes.

The preparation and the conducting will be carried out by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon team jointly with the Department of Physical Education and Sport of the Odesa City Council and Odesa Regional Triathlon Federation.

Start point: Shevchenko Park, the Health Road (near the Khutorok Restaurant).

Start time: 23 March, children ― 09:00 a.m., boys and girls ― 9:30 a.m., men and women ― 10:00 a.m.

Pre-registration ― 20 March, 2013 (required). Registration on start point ― only for non-resident with the permit of the Chief Justice. Handing out race numbers ― from 08:00 to 09:00. The registration will take place at the sports complex Dynamo on March 22, from 16:00 to 19:00.

There will be the following age groups: children born in 2002 and younger running 500 m, born in 2001-2000 running 1 km, born in 1999-1996 running 2 km, and the men and women run 5 km.

Winners of each age group will be awarded with diplomas, medals and prizes.
