ODESA, MARCH 15th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Vice-Mayor of Odessa on Humanitarian Affairs Elena Pavlova has met with the heads of UNICEF Representation in Ukraine, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
Odesa City Council Information Office reported yesterday, 14 March.
According to the Office, Mrs Pavlova held a working meeting with the deputy head of UNICEF in Ukraine Rudiger Luchmann. The meeting was attended by the heads of various departments of the UNICEF in Ukraine, specialists of the Health Department, Office for Children’s Services, Odesa Centre for social services for children, families and young people, as well as heads of charity foundation “Way Home”.
During the meeting, Mr Luchmann informed about the interest of international organizations in the revitalization and expansion of partnership with the Odesa City Council, civil society organizations at the regional level.
“Representatives of UNICEF highly appreciated the positive results of the implementation of social initiatives of President of Ukraine. According to the representatives of the international organization, an effective form of cooperation was formed between the experts and community services for healthcare and education, public organizations, public authorities of the population”, the office noted.
Also in the framework of the working meeting it was identified priority fields of the long-term partnership: the elimination of bases and the negative effects of child abandonment, the formation of the network available to young people and young people at risk services for the diagnosis and prevention of HIV infection, the spread of the Odesa City Council experience in using the mechanism of the municipal social services.
