MYKOLAIV, MARCH 15th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The Mykolaiv resident Olga Shevchenko has become the Ukrainian champion in Sambo in women's 44kg class, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Mykolaiv City Council reported today, 15 March.

According to the press-service, on March 13 the Championship of Sambo among men, women, and combat sambo was started.

The competition was attended by 18 teams from different cities and regions of Ukraine.

“The first place in the weight category of 44 kg took the resident of our city, a police major, world-class athlete, European champion Olga Shevchenko. The winner received a certificate of honour and a crystal cup. The prizes were handled by the head of the Zavodskoy district Aleksandr Zhenzheruha”, the press-service noted.

All winners of the Championship of Ukraine will take part in the European Championships which will be held in Milan in May.
