ODESA, APRIL 4th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — A graduate of the Odesa National Mechnikov University, academician at the University College London Institute of Neurology Sergei Silantyev has read a course “Intercellular communication in the nervous system”, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of ONU reported yesterday, 3 April.

According to the press service, a special course lasted for a month and has attracted many students to the biological and non-biological disciplines.

According to Mr Silantyev, “the formation of ideas about the nervous system requires knowledge of the courses “physiology of excitable tissues”, “biochemistry”, “biophysics” and “neuroscience”. Main objective of the course is to show the relationship and interaction of objects and phenomena on different levels: the principles of operation of a single ion channel, different types of ion channels, the formation of the nerve signal at the cell level, the integration of the nerve cells in the neural network. This course is an attempt to collect the scattered information on the subject.”
