ODESA, APRIL 16th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Odesa City Council has approved the city programme putting the central historical part of Odesa in the UNESCO World Heritage List for 2013-2015, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The decision was taken today, 16 April, at the session of the Odesa City Council.

So, the total amount of financial resources required for the implementation of the Programme, in the amount of UAH 38 million 117 thousand determined. Including the city's budget ― UAH 5 million 92 thousand; funds from other budgets ―UAH 31 million 820 thousand; funds from other sources ― UAH 1 million 205 thousand.

“The programme aims on the implementation of historic buildings, the urban environment located in the core of the historic centre, on nomination to the World Heritage List the most valuable conservation of historic buildings and monumental art.

The programme was worked out to preserve the architectural ensembles and individual facilities and attractions in the historic core downtown, historical areas of the city,” stated in the draft decision.
