ODESA, APRIL 19th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Ukraine Arja Makkonen has stated that northern companies are the best taxpayers in the world, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Arja Makkonen reported yesterday, 18 April, during the opening of the varnish-and-paint plant of Eskaro Group AB in Odesa region.

“It is the honour for me to attend the opening ceremony of the new Eskaro plant. New investments are always good news for everyone. I had tours through Ukraine for last 2 years, and believe me, they all want to be invested in their regions. It happens not only in Ukraine but also in Finland. Because investment always gives boost to the economy. For the investor is also always very important concurrence between enterprise and government, both at the local and regional level.

I take this opportunity to thank the Governor and the Chairman of the Regional Council for their assistance. I assure you that northern companies are the best taxpayers in the world. Our companies have a very good reputation in terms of standards of ethics and business relationships. I look forward to a very fruitful cooperation between the administration and Finnish companies,” the Ambassador noted.
