KHERSON, MAY 25th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The International Theatre Festival “Melpomene of Tavria” has started in Kherson, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Kherson Regional State Administration reported today, 25 May.

According to the press service, this year's festival will last for 10 days (from May 24 to June 2), during which it is planned to present the viewer more than 30 theater collectives of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Transnistria, Romania, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Georgia, Israel and France.

The purpose of the festival is a promotion Ukrainian classical and contemporary theatre, a creating a positive image of Ukraine in the world, a demonstration of the positive trends in the development of national culture and the exchange of theatres’ best achievements and interesting finds of different regions of Ukraine and abroad.
