According to the information, the Ukrainian team of Olga Kharlan, Galina Pundyk, Alina Komashchuk and Elena Voronina began the struggle in the quarterfinals against Azerbaijan. Defeating Eastern rivals, Ukrainian sabre fencers defeated sabre fencers from Poland in the semifinals and reached the finals.
