Practical training in amphibious indoctrination holds as a part of “Sea Breeze 2013” in Odesa region

ODESA, JULY 12th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― In the framework of the of Ukrainian-US exercises “Sea Breeze 2013” a practical training in amphibious indoctrination has been held in Odesa region, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted today, 12 July.

During the event, a series of elements of the coastal component associated with the preparation of “black berets” for international security operations at sea and evacuation civilians from disaster area by were worked out by the personnel of the 1st separate battalion of the Feodosia Marine Corps of Naval Forces of Ukraine.

According to battalion chief of Marine Corps lieutenant-colonel Dmytro Delyatitsky: “Today we had to work on unequipped coast. Of course, it's not easy, but we are always ready to perform the tasks to combat international piracy and relieve the consequences in any “hot spot” of the planet.”

“These measures contribute to the strengthening of international cooperation between Ukraine and other countries of the world and allow the military to exchange experiences, to subsequently jointly to respond to the threats posed by international piracy and consequences emergencies. Planning a series of exercises “Sea Breeze”, we are always trying to change the tactical situation and complicate the tasks,” the head of exercises “Sea Breeze 2013” Rear Admiral Denis Berezovsky noted. “Our main goal ― the crew of the frigate “Hetman Sahaydachniy”, the Ship “Konstantin Olshansky” and personnel of the 1st separate battalion of the Feodosia Marine Corps were appraised worthily by international military experts and in the future, not only occasionally, but on an ongoing basis took part in operations to maintain safety at sea and on land as part of the international coalition forces.”
