ODESA, JULY 12th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Head of the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation, People's Deputy of Ukraine Sergiy Grynevetskyi has said that the Ukraine’s participation in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region provides additional capabilities to join the EU, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Sergiy Grynevetskyi noted today, 12 July, at the 1st Conference of Danube Parliamentarians (Ulm, Germany).

“The participation of Ukraine in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region is due to two factors. First, the strategy gives us additional opportunities to enter into a common European space. Danube remains for us a “window to Europe”. Second, we consider the Danube strategy as a tool of regional development for our country. Of course, the effect of the Strategy covers four regions of Ukraine, located in the Danube River Basin. Each of these regions has its own historical, economic, and cultural identity. Our task is to ensure their sustainable development, equal access to social, cultural, educational services, regardless of where they live,” Mr Grynevetskyi noted.
