ODESA, JULY 29th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Two Odesa athletes have won gold medals at the IPC Athletics World Championships among participants with cerebral palsy and visually impaired, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
The Department for Physical Training and Sports of Odesa Regional State Administration reported today, 29 July.
According to the Office, the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships was held through 14 — 30 July in Lyon, France. Odesa region was presented by Andriy Onufrienko and Ruslan Katyshev.
21 July there were held competitions in the long jump among athletes with cerebral palsy. In these competitions Andriy Onufrienko won the gold medal. 24 July Ruslan Katyshev won the gold medal in the triple jump.
The Office recalled that at the XIV Paralympic Games 2012, Ruslan Katyshev became a Paralympic champion.
