Odesa Opera House welcomes new tenor

ODESA, SEPTEMBER 11th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The troop of Odesa National Academic Opera welcomes a new permanent tenor Konstantin Andreev who has been invited to join the company in this 204th season. He was a soloist of the Royal Theatre of Madrid, Spain, before that, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

According to the information, the Odesa opera fans are familiar with his art as he has performed at the First and Second International Arts Festivals in Odesa Opera. During the festivals Mr. Andreev participated in both Gala concerts called Odesa Stars of the World Opera Stage. During the second festival he also performed the part of Calaf in Turandot by Giacomo Puccini (Covent Garden soloist Anna Shafazhinska as Turandot, Aleksandru Samoile, People’s Artist of Moldova, as a conductor, Christian von Götz (Germany) as a stage director).

At the moment Konstantin Andreev is getting ready for the premiere of the Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky (producing conductor is Aleksandru Samoile, the People’s Artist of Moldova, the stage director is Aleksander Titel, the People’s Artist of Russia) where he will sing the part of Herman. His current repertoire will also include the parts of Calaf (Turandot by Giacomo Puccini), Cavaradossi (Tosca by Giacomo Puccini), Rodolfo (La boheme by Giacomo Puccini), Radames (Aida by Giuseppe Verdi) and etc.

These days Konstantin Andreev is taking part in the Maria Bieshu International Festival as a soloist of the Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Sept 6 – 15, Chisinau). The principal conductor of the Odesa Opera Aleksandru Samoile, People’s Artist of Moldova, is also among the participants.
