KHERSON, SEPTEMBER 20th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ¬― Airport “Kherson” is preparing to accept new regular international flights ― in particular, one of the largest Turkish Airlines, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

“Regular flight “Kherson-Moscow-Kherson” is in great demand. Now, in connection with the reduction of daylight and frequent fog, we have to take a short break in order to ensure during this time the installation of lighting equipment and navigation system SP -80. However, the airport “Kherson” does finish its work; it will continue to take the charter flights. Reopening of regular flights to Moscow is scheduled for the Christmas holidays,” the director of the airport “Kherson” Yaroslav Agafonov said.

He also pointed out that airport “Kherson” fully continues to function. Moreover, the number of passengers is now coming to the mark of 1.5 thousand, and by the end of September the “jubilee” hundredth aircraft will fly.

In addition, Yaroslav Ahafonov said that the airport is preparing to take new scheduled flights of international destinations. So, one of the largest Turkish Airlines is already preparing the documentation for the introduction of regular flights to Kherson.

“17 September, a meeting of the representatives of the Ukrainian and Turkish aviation services took place in Ankara, during which it was decided to determine the airport “Kherson” as landing point for the Ukrainian and Turkish Airlines” Yaroslav Agafonov added.
