ODESA, OCTOBER 17th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The meeting of the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev and the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev has been held in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odesa Regional State Administration reported today, 17 October.

According to the press service, “the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev and the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev discussed a wide range of areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Russia in the field of security.

Bilateral consultations between the staff of RNBO of Ukraine and the SCRF were held after the meeting.

The delegations shared vision of the potential areas of mutually beneficial cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and Russia in the field of security of information and communication technologies. First of all, they talked about the impact on the national security, dynamic processes of globalization, rapid spread of new technologies.

The two sides discussed a set of issues related to the new challenges and threats to international security, as well as the factors that have special impact on their appearance. In this context, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the fight against international terrorism.

The parties agreed to intensify expert consultations within the Plan of cooperation between the Office of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and the Security Council of the Russian Federation for 2013-2014 , which was signed in October last year in Yalta.”
