International conference on education held in Odesa

ODESA, NOVEMBER 2nd, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― An international conference “New education trends in Austria and Ukraine. Competence for future” has been held 30 October in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odesa Regional State Administration noted today, 2 November.

According to the press-service, 30 October, 2013 in Odesa on the basis of the Regional Institute of Teachers, with the assistance of the Odesa Regional State Administration, the Department of Education and Science of the State Administration hosted an international conference “New trends in education in Austria and Ukraine. Competence for future”.

The event was attended by the Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa Regional State Administration Tetiana Lazareva, director of the Department of Cooperation in Education “KulturKontakt” (Austria) Monika Mott, expert of the Pedagogical Institute of the Upper Austrian M. Egger.

Mrs Lazareva familiarized the Austrian colleagues with the reforms in the Ukrainian education, paying particular attention to the interaction between the government and the educational community within the Odesa implementation of social initiatives of the President of Ukraine. Also she stressed the importance and potential of mutual international projects in the framework of integration into the European educational space. In the speech Director of the Department of Education and Science of the State Administration focused on the innovations that have been launched on the initiative of the chairman of the Odesa Regional State Administration Eduard Matviychuk.

The problems of education reforms in Austria, the development and promotion of educational standards were given by M. Mott and M. Egger.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the event for the fruitful work and stressed the importance of such events in the professional development of the modern teacher.
