Greece to work for a common European maritime policy

ODESA, JANUARY 24th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Consul General of Greece in Odesa Antonio Haziroglou has stated, that Greece will work for a common European maritime policy, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Antonio Haziroglou noted yesterday, 23 January, during the presentation of the priorities of the Greek Presidency of the European Union.

“Our country is deeply convinced that the sea is an inexhaustible source of progress and prosperity for the whole of Europe. For centuries it was a field of action for the Greeks. Greece will work for a common European maritime policy, relying on the work of previous chairmanships and paying special attention to the security sector and economic growth,” Consul General noted. “The Greek Presidency will try to stimulate cooperation in several key sectors, such as tourism, fisheries, energy, marine transportation, marine spatial planning, and so on.”
