Chairman of Regional Council meets with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Odesa

ODESA, FEBRUARY 11th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Chairman of the Odesa Regional Council Mykola Tyndyuk has had a formal meeting with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Odesa Nur Sagman, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odesa Regional Council noted today, 11 February.

Together with the chairman of the regional council , the event was attended by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Odesa Konstantin Rzhepishevsky, Deputy of the Odesa Regional Council, member of the Standing Committee for International And Interregional Cooperation Yuri Dimchoglo, head of the Office for the economy, budget and international cooperation of the Regional Council Igor Usatyuk and Head of Department for International Cooperation Irina Rusanova.

The initiator of the meeting was the Consul General. She was interested in thoughts of newly elected chairman of the Regional Council about the state of relations of the Odesa region with the regions of the Turkish Republic and the prospects for its improvement.

Consul General came accompanied by the colleagues ― Vice-Consul of the Consulate General Melih Demirtaş and Commercial Attaché of the Consulate General Necdet Eser. Mykola Tyndyuk noted that Turkish diplomatic representation in Odesa has made a significant contribution to the strengthening of the Ukrainian-Turkish relations during the years of its existence.

“Turkey is the second-largest trade partner of Ukraine after Russia (last year the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to more than USD 5 billion). Therefore, the Regional Council will continue to devote considerable attention to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation,” M. Tyndyuk noted.
