ODESA, MARCH 24th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Metropolitan of Odesa and Izmail Agathangelos has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Greece in Ukraine Vassilios Papadopoulos, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church noted today, March 24.

According to the information, the sides discussed important issues of Ukrainian-Greek cooperation in various fields. Metropolitan Agathangelos said that for many years the Greek diplomats arriving to Odesa gets blessing of the ruling bishop, enabling to build good relations between Odesa Diocese and the Consulate General.

Metropolitan Agafangel congratulated the distinguished guests on the upcoming holiday ― the Independence Day of Greece.

In reply, Ambassador thanked Agathangelos for the constructive cooperation with the diplomatic mission and pastoral care of the Greeks in Odesa, stressing that due to his pastoral work and prayer friendship between the Orthodox peoples of Ukraine and Greece growing strong.”
