ODESA, APRIL 14th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt has had a meeting with public and businessmen of the city during his visit to Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
Organizers of the event noted today, 14 April.
According to the organizers, 12 April “HUB Odesa” held a meeting of journalists, the public and businessmen of the city with the Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden Andreas von Bekerat.
“The most important issue in Ukraine now is democratic elections on 25 May. EU will do everything that depends on us. And we, with the IMF, will help financially,” the minister noted.
According to Mr. Bildt, careful monitoring of the income of Ukrainians officials should be the main instrument in fighting with corruption. In turn, the minister promised to check in Sweden flow of money of Ukrainian officials.
Carl Bildt advised Ukrainians to develop energy-saving technologies and actively use the benefits of a trade agreement with the EU, i.e. focus on exports to the EU.
