ODESA, SEPTEMBER 3rd, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Odesa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information Department noted today, September 3.

According to the information, September 3, a meeting of the Odesa mayor Gennady Trukhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata was held in Odesa City Council. Ambassador of Japan arrived in Odesa as a guest of honour to celebrate the 220th Anniversary of the founding of the city.

The sides discussed cooperation between the twin cities of Odesa and Yokohama in trade, culture and sports.

According to Odesa Mayor, issues on the placement and the provision of assistance to IDPs from the eastern regions of Ukraine were discussed. The parties also considered the possibility of participation of the Japanese side in the assistance to IDPs.
