MYKOLAIV, DECEMBER 2nd, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Nearly 11 million tons of cargo processed by Mykolaiv port for 11 months, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Mykolaiv Sea Port Administration noted today, 2 December.

According to the information, on December 1 of this year through the piers and roads Administration of Mykolaiv Sea Port handled 10 million 950 thousand tons of cargo, which is an absolute production record in the history of the harbor.

Thus, the projected throughput capacity of Mykolaiv port is 9.5 million tons per year and the largest volume of cargo handling Mykolaiv port workers has been achieved in 2012, when it was handled 10 million 800 thousand tons of cargo. Then the port was awarded the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine “Golden ton”.

This year, despite the difficult situation in the socio-political and economic life of our state, the port could do enormous amount of production work. It is worth noting that for 11 months in 2014 the largest increase in cargo handling was recorded in the segment of food cargoes: transshipment of grain amounted to more than 3 million 734 tons (+ 20% compared to the same period of 2013), as well as vegetable oils — 736 thousand tons (+ 56%).

Taking into account the current dynamics of cargo handling, stevedores are going to install a new historical record of production activities, processed more than 11 million tons till the end of 2014.
