KHERSON, DECEMBER 12th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Reported by the Operations Department of the SE “Administration of the Seaports of Ukraine” the volume of cargo handled at seaports amounted to 129 million 284 thousand tons, which is 5.1% higher than in 2013, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Administration of the Ports of Ukraine noted today, 22 December.

According to the information, with the beginning of the year the volume of cargo handled at seaports amounted to 129 million 284 thousand tons, which is 5.1% higher than in 2013. In this case, the state port operators processed 44 million 442 thousand tons (34.4% of total); private port operators processed 84 million 842 thousand tons (65.6% of total). In particular, by private port operators through the piers of the Administration of the Seaports of Ukraine — 44 million 207 thousand tons (34.2% of total).

Processing of export cargo totaled 93 million 409 thousand tons (an increase of 10.6% as compared to 2013), import — 14 million 503 thousand tons (down by 11.1% as compared to 2013).

Transshipment of transit cargo amounted to 18 million 608 thousand tons (down by 7.9% as compared to 2013), coastal — 2 million 765 thousand tons (an increase of 33.5% from the previous year).

Recycling containers in seaports amounted to — 614 thousand 86 TEU, which is 86.2% from 2013.

As the engines of growth in the nomenclature of cargo base are three positions: grain cargo — 28 million 598 thousand tons (131.7% over the same indicator in 2013); ore cargoes — 31 million 795 thousand tons (103.8%); metal — 17 million 412 thousand tons (108.4%).
