ODESSA, JANUARY 15th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Odessa sea port has handled on exports 7.2 million tons of grain last year, which is 2 million tons more than in 2013, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
The press service of the Administration of the Ports of Ukraine noted today, 19 January.
According to the monitoring carried out by the experts of IA “APK-Inform”, in 2014, the seaports of Ukraine exported 36.4 million tons of grain compared 23.7 million tons shipped a year earlier. Thus, the volume of wheat shipments totaled 9.4 million tons compared 6.6 million tons in 2013, corn — 23.2 million tons compared to 14.9 million tons, barley — 3.8 million tons compared to 2, 2 million tons.
It is worth noting that the leaders in the shipment of grain last year were as follows: in the Azov Sea — Berdyansk port to increase its exports to 1 million tons against 423.7 thousand tons, in the Black Sea — Odessa sea port, from which the volume of shipments amounted to 7.2 million tons against 5 million tons, and the TIS company, which shipped 7.2 million tons versus 4.2 million tons a year earlier.
