KHERSON, FEBRUARY 10th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Ukraine has expanded its grain exports affected by a high gross grain harvest, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Administration of the Ports of Ukraine noted today, February 10.

According to the information, this season, owing to a high gross grain harvest it is noticed an increase in the rate of their exports, as well as the geographical expansion of supply.

From the total harvest of grain and pulses, which is amounted to 63.8 million tons for export will be delivered over 34.3 million tons. In this case, there is strengthening of our position in the Asian market.

Culture with the most significant positive dynamics of exports in the first half of the season was barley.

“Summarizing the results from July to December, it was exported more than 3.7 million tons of grain, which is 83% higher than in the 2013/14 marketing year. At the same time, in addition to the traditional supply in Saudi Arabia, whose volume during this period increased by 1.7 times to 2.5 million tons, significant amounts were also exported to Turkey (344 thousand tons), Iran (251 thousand tons) and China (174.3 thousand tons). In these countries in the same period of the previous season Ukrainian barley was not exported.”
