ODESSA, JUNE 10th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The session of the Odessa City Council has approved a project on accession to the European initiative “Covenant of Mayors”, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The decision was made today, on June 10 at a meeting of the regular session of City Council.

Thus, the Commission decided to join the European initiative “Covenant of Mayors” and to authorize the Mayor Gennady Trukhanov on behalf of the territorial community of Odessa to sign a “Covenant of Mayors”.

INFORMATION: The Covenant of Mayors is the mainstream European movement involving local and regional authorities, voluntarily committing to increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources on their territories. By their commitment, Covenant signatories aim to meet and exceed the European Union 20% CO2 reduction objective by 2020.
