ODESSA, NOVEMBER 10th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — SE “APU” has got the open permit by the Ministry of the Environment for operational deepening of deepwater fairway Danube — Black Sea on January 1, 2016 and throughout the period of operation, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odessa Commercial Sea Port Administration noted today, 10 November.

According to the press service, the simplification of procedures for obtaining permits for operating dredging to improve the competitiveness of ports and their capacity has been initiated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Environment and supported the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers ¹574 “On Amendments to the procedure for issuing permits for work on the lands of water fund” dated July 30, 2015.

According to the decree of Cabinet of Ministers, the operating permit for dredging the Ministry of Environment issued once and is of indefinite duration, if the passport specifications harbor basin or channel technology solutions and conditions of work are the same. PKMU ¹574 allows SE “APU” to fully comply with one of the most important functions assigned to it under the Law “On Sea Ports of Ukraine” — dredging.

“Removing of a red tape will allow time to carry out works to maintain in good condition the waters in the sea ports and approach channels. In addition, the introduction of a simplified procedure for dredging means substantial savings of public funds and time. If, for example, in 2014 for a permit had at least 6 months now, this period will be reduced to one month and does not require annual renewal. We expect that the innovation will create more favorable conditions for ship and cargo owners,” Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yuriy Vaskov said.
