ODESSA, NOVEMBER 12th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Representatives of the US Coast Guard visited Odessa port during a working visit to Ukraine, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odessa Commercial Sea Port Administration noted today, 12 November.

According to the press service, November 11 in the framework of the working trip to Ukraine representatives of the US Coast Guard Colleen McCusker and Kristin Sullivan visited Odessa port.

At a meeting with the administration of the port, the sides discussed issues of organization of the modern system of security of ships and of port facilities security measures.

During the meeting, head of the administration of the port of Odessa Mikhail Sokolov told the guests about the improvement of the security strategy of the enterprise in connection with the increased risk of terrorist attacks and other threats.

“Over the past two years, measures have been taken to modernize the systems of access control and video surveillance in the port area, considerable attention is paid to issues of cybersecurity and coordination of security structures port state law enforcement agencies, conducted monitoring of the situation in the area, on the road and w/d approaches to port,” M. Sokolov said.
