Mykolaiv port is on the way to the grain handling leaders

MYKOLAIV, FEBRUARY 9th, 2016, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Vaskov has said that the implementation of major investment projects in the port infrastructure outputs Mykolaiv port as a grain handling leader, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Elena Kovaleva, representatives of port authorities and port operators working on the territory of the port.

The problems of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service, as well as issues of mixing batches of grain terminals, opening health laboratories were covered during the meeting.

As the head of the administration of Mykolaiv seaport, Alexander Popov, now in port create the most comfortable conditions for investors and stevedores, “Mykolaiv port is suitable for grain logistics as it has good location for the transportation of grain from the northern and eastern parts of Ukraine. We actively develop the export of grain from our port. For example, some port operators have recently expressed the desire to rent the port berths. This form of public-private cooperation is not prohibited by law, but lawyers are still working in this direction to ensure that the transfer berths was legal”.

The Minister of Infrastructure will hold a meeting with representatives of grain business in Kyiv, in which sum up the results of two meetings with representatives of the Odessa and Mykolaiv grain terminals.
