MYKOLAIV, FEBRUARY 5th, 2016, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Captain of “African Pride” vessel (flag of Panama), which is located under the loading in Mykolaiv seaport, issued a protest against the unreasonable actions of the State Ecological Inspectorate of northwestern part of the Black Sea region, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

In this case the ship did not carry out the discharge of pollutants during the stay in Mykolaiv seaport.

The press service reminded that according to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers ¹491 and ¹953 ecological vessel control is carried out only in the case of a reset with visible floating particles of the vessel or in the case of traces of oil, petroleum products or other pollutants in the discharge area, which led to the actual water quality deterioration relative to baseline water quality in the water area.

“In the course of events, the late evening of February 4 the State Ecological Inspectors accompanied by prosecutors, law-enforcement bodies tried to get on board again without providing any documents.

As a result of unfounded and illegal actions there were a significant loss of the crew working time, shipping agents, port authorities and government representatives.
