KHERSON, 08 JUNE 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — Kherson shipyard Smart Maritime Group continues the construction of the oil skimmer to the sea port «Yuzhny», the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

Agency was informed today, on June 8, by the press service of the SE «ASPU».

As noted in a press-service, specialists of the administration of the sea port «Yuzhny» visited the production base of Smart Maritime Group (Kherson shipyard) with the purpose of acquaintance with the current stage of the vessel's construction, the oil skimmer.

During the visit, held talks with the refinement of the delivery of the agreed equipment delivery dates and equipment. Also inspected finished blocks (sections) and identified a number of technical issues requiring further attention.

Work is performed according to the plan, 90% of the equipment ordered and expected to be delivered without any delay.

REFERENCE: The signing of the contract for the purchase of oil skimmer between the Seaport Authority «Yuzhny» and the Kherson shipbuilding plant was held on November 24, 2015. The project implementation will extend the functionality to clean up the waters of the sea port «Yuzhny» and the adjacent Maritime areas from the effects of the oil spill, petroleum products, bilge and domestic water, solid residues and waste for environmental safety.

Vessel oil skimmer which will be built at the Kherson shipyard will have no analogue among the vessels of this type operating in the marine ports of Ukraine, and will be the first ship acquired since the founding of the State Enterprise «ASPU».
