Odessa, 06 JULY 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie -- In Odessa took place the round table devoted to the role of Odessa region in the European Strategy for the Danube region, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, on July 6, in a press-service of the Odessa Regional Council.

As noted in a press-service, the round table «European Strategy of the Danube Region: opportunities and tasks of Odessa region» was organized by the initiative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Regional Development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine with the support of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine. On behalf of the Chairman of the Regional Council Anatoly Urbansky meeting was attended by his Deputy Yuri Dimchoglo.

The meeting participants discussed the advantages and opportunities of the European strategy, actual problems of the Danube region and ways of their solution in accordance with European norms and standards.

The press service noted that the participation of the Odessa region in the development and subsequent implementation of the European Strategy for the Danube Region is a stable platform for cooperation, the ability to create conditions for improving the socio-economic situation, to improve the quality of life of their inhabitants, as well as solutions to the most acute environmental problems.

«Along with membership in the «Euroregion Lower Danube», which in April was headed by Anatoly Urbansky, an important place in the work of the Regional Council is engaged in investment projects in the field of ecology, agriculture, economic relations and tourism», — added the press service.
