11:43 / 22.07.2016

Nikolaev, 22 JULY 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie -- Expert Advisor of «CTS-Consulting» Andrei Isayev explained the factors of transshipment growth in Nikolaev seaport (on the background of its fall in other ports) by high share of agricultural commodities -- grain and vegetable oil, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

Agency was informed today, on June 6, by the press service of the SE «USPA».

According to the press service, in the first half of 2016, there was a decrease of transshipment in all directions and in almost all sea ports of Ukraine. But some of them managed to maintain positive momentum.

Commenting on the situation, the adviser at CTS Consulting Andrei Isayev said that the smallest decline was recorded in export handling -- 2%. Imports decreased by 14%, transit -- by 46%, the volume of domestic traffic fell by half.

The expert noted an increase (though small) in transshipment in the Nikolaev sea port amid its fall in other major ports.

«Compared to most ports with the exception of Nikolaev, where volumes increased due to the high share of agricultural goods (grain and vegetable oil) in the handling. The growth of transshipment in Izmail and Skadovsk occured due to the reorientation of part of the cargo of ferrous metals from large ports. Ust-Dunaysk sea port managed to increase transshipment by attracting local traffic (grain and vegetable oil)», — said A. Isayev.
