Odessa port has agreed with Ukrtransbezopasnost (UTB) interaction on weight control of vehicles

Odessa, 22 JULY 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie -- Odessa port has agreed with Ukrtransbezopasnost (UTB) the procedure for cooperation on dimensions and weight control of laden vehicles, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

Agency was informed today, on July 22, by the press service of the Odessa Sea Port.

According to the press service, in the framework of a program initiated by the Ministry of Infrastructure of measures to combat the destruction of public roads, the Odessa port was first from Odessa region ports who agreed with Ukrtransbezopasnost order of interaction in dimensions and weight control of loaded vehicles.

This week specialists of the UTB made acquaintance with truck routes at the entrances and exits of the port, determined the placements of additional weight equipment.

According to representatives of the UTB, after approval of the order of carrying out of dimensional and weight control in other ports, and the availability of the required number of UTB employees, the department together with the administration of Odessa sea port will start to work.

As previously reported, in May of this year, the Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian announced that the government begins a tough fight with an overload of vehicles that destroy road surface and destroy the Ukrainian roads. From 10 May, in the framework of the joint action plan of «Ukrtransbezopasnost», «Ukravtodor» and National police, in the Odessa, Nikolaev and Kherson areas are working additional groups of inspectors of UTB-implementation of dimensional and weight control of vehicles on public roads. In addition, at the initiative of the Ministry in the Verkhovna Rada have been made and registered two draft laws aimed at the protection of automobile roads of Ukraine from destruction by overloaded vehicles.
