Odessa region representatives will study the organization of local government in Latvia.

«On the example of Latvia, we see that the process of voluntary Association of communities could be delayed, as, for example, in the South of Odessa region. Local government reform in this country began in 1999 and lasted 10 years. And at the end of the process of reformation even had to resort to administrative levers to complete the first phase of decentralization. Foreign experience of reformation of local self-government is very important for the Odessa region and the state as a whole. On such avant-garde projects, our country learns to walk forward», — noted the Chairman of regional Council Anatoly Urbansky while preparing a working visit.
