NIKOLAEV, 05 AUGUST 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-July, the total turnover of the public and private stevedoring companies operating in the Nikolaev seaport amounted to 12 million 364,21 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, August 5, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

The press-service reported that according to operational data, the total cargo turnover at the port during the 6 months amounted to 12 million 364,21 thousand tons, which amounted to 100.6% as compared to January-July 2015, when the turnover reached 12 million 295,38 thousand tons.

Liquid cargoes during this period, the port handled 1 million 446,22 thousand tons (129.3% of the figure for January-July 2015); bulk dry cargo — 8 million 958,82 thousand tons (99,8%); unitized cargo — 1 million 959,17 thousand tons (88.9 %).

REFERENCE: Sea port of Nikolaev is situated on the left bank of the bend of Yuzhny Bug river, 35 km upstream from the confluence with the Dnieper estuary. The port is connected with the sea, Bug-Dniepr Limansky channel (BDLC), passing through the Dnieper-Bug estuary and the Yuzhny Bug river. It begins near the island Berezan and extends for 44 miles to the Nikolaev port. The channel consists of 13 tribes, 6 of them are in the Dnieper estuary, and the rest on the river Yuzhny Bug. The channel width of 100 m, depth — 11,2 m. The port is navigable all year round.
