Odessa, 7 SEPTEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-August total turnover of stevedoring companies operating in the Belgorod-Dniester seaport totaled 345.94 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, September 7, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

In a press-service reported that according to operational data, the total cargo turnover at the port in January-August amounted to 345,94 thousand tons, which is by 32.1% less than the same period in 2015, when the turnover amounted to 516,83 thousand tons.

The main cargoes for this period were timber, it was handled 310,77 thousand tons.

Also, it processed 14.76 thousand tons of ferrous metals, 3.05 tons of grain and 2 thousand tons of building materials.

REFERENCE: Belgorod-Dniester port was founded in 1971. Located in the South-Western part of Odessa region, 20 km from the Black sea on the right shore of the Dniester estuary, having a length of 42 km and width of 4.5 to 12 km and connected by a strait with the Black sea. The ship enters the port via the channel with a length of 2.22 km and Liman channel length of 14.5 km. Depth of the approach channel is 4.5 m.
