NIKOLAEV, 19 SEPTEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — The Administration of sea ports of Ukraine proposes to simplify the navigation of vessels on the Dnieper-Bug Limansk Channel and Kherson Sea Channel, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, September 19, in the press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

According to the press service, the Administration of seaports of Ukraine held a meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman for logistics Viacheslav Voronoi, with the participation of specialists of the enterprise, the captains of sea ports of Kherson and Nikolaev, the scientists of the Institute «Chernomorniiproekt».

The topic of discussion was the order of the Deputy Minister of infrastructure Evgeny Kravtsov to change existing norms sailing in Bug-Dnieper Limansk channel.

As a result of discussions it was decided to apply to the Ministry of Infrastructure and the State Service of Ukraine on security in transport amending the order of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine from 01.08.2007 ¹655 «On approval of the Rules of navigation and pilotage in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, Bug-Dnieper Liman and Kherson Sea channels».

In particular, it is proposed: to allow sailing through BDLC vessels up to 230 m (in contrast to 215 m in the last edition of the Rules); to allow the sailing of large ships (except containerships), which have a length of up to 230 m along BDLC and 200 m at the KSC in the dark (as opposed to 200 m along BDLC and 187 m on KSC in the last edition of the Rules); to allow swimming at the BDLC of heavy vessels with a length more than 200 m in towing software (in contrast to 187 m in the last edition of the Rules); to allow the use of the sailing area behind the red curb on thirteenth knee BDLC and the first bend of the channel of the water area of Nikolaev port for sailing vessels with a draft up to 4.0 m in both directions in the lane 200 m from the red edge channel.

Also Rules of navigation, propose to allow vessels with a draft up to 4.0 m and all small craft to the differences with the other courts to use a portion of the second knee of KSC from buoy 49-50 to buoy 65-66 in lane 1 cable length width left and right of the edge of the second knee channel».

These changes are caused by improvement of conditions of navigation on BDLC.

The results of measurements showed that the depth along the red edge of 300 meters allow all ships sailing in both directions with a draft of up to 4.0 meters.

More radical changes in the rules of navigation will be possible after the implementation of «Upgrade Bug Liman Channel» project.
