Odessa, 05 OCTOBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In 9 months of 2016 the total turnover of public and private stevedoring companies working on the territory of Odessa sea port, accounted for 18 million 627,2 thousand tons, or 98% of the same period last year, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, October 05, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

In a press-service reported that according to operational data, the total cargo turnover at the port of Odessa for January-September amounted to 18 million 627,2 thousand tons, which is 2% less than for 9 months of 2015, when the turnover amounted to 19 million 13,98 thousand tons.

During this period, the port handled liquid cargo 1 million 903.75 thousand tons (66.8% up from January to September 2015); bulk dry cargo — 6 million 840.93 thousand tons (91.4%, the largest share — grain — 5 million 906.75 thousand tons); unitized cargo — 9 million 882,52 thousand tons (113.8%).

REFERENCE: Odessa sea port is located in the southwestern part of Odessa Gulf on an artificially formed area of 141 hectares. In the port are served vessels up to 330 m and draught up to 13 m. The total length of berthing line is more than 9 km away. Facilities of the enterprise allow to annually process more than 21 million tons of dry and 25 million tons of bulk cargo and container terminals are designed for an overload of more than 900 thousand TEU. Passenger complex is able to serve up to 4 million tourists a year.
