Odessa, 07 OCTOBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — Following the meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Philip at the check point «Mayaki – Palanka — Udobnoye» the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced the intention to «dramatically intensify political, economic, trade, cultural, customs, border and other forms of cooperation» between the two countries, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

According to the press service, during his working trip to Odessa region Petro Poroshenko with the Prime Minister of Moldova visited the checkpoint «Mayaki — Palanka – Udobnoye» on the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border.

P. Poroshenko and P. Philip inspected the construction of the checkpoint, the introduction of which is planned for 2018.

The Ukrainian Head of state and Head of the Moldovan government in statements to the media noted the performance and constructiveness of the negotiations.

The parties have agreed that, together with the EU in the framework of the «Eastern Partnership» and integrated management of the project will be built abroad checkpoint, equipped with modern equipment. The President noted that the funds for this project highlights the European Union. According to him, Ukrainian and Moldovan border guards will ensure the rapid clearance of passengers and cargo, which eliminates the queue. Also, high-speed internet access will be carried out, the crossing point will be equipped with modern video surveillance.

«Honest people should not have problems when crossing the border. To see them one time at one point — the Moldovan and Ukrainian border guards», — said the President, adding that the checkpoint will be «civilized and European».

In addition, agreement was reached on the construction with the participation of the EU in the area «Kuchurgan – Pervomaisk» modern joint checkpoint.

P. Poroshenko recalled that currently Ukraine reconstructs the road Odessa — Reni.

«We believe that it will revitalize the development of Southern Ukraine, Odessa region, and our cooperation with the Moldovan side», he said.

The President also recalled the agreement to build a ferry service between the Ukrainian Orlovka and Romanian Isaccei across the Danube. With the participation of the European Union planned to build a bridge that will significantly reduce the distance between Odessa, Romania and Bulgaria.

«It activates the flow of goods and deliveries of goods from Moldova and Ukraine to the European market», — said the President.

Prime Minister of Moldova, in turn, noted that the implementation of joint projects aimed at providing comfort and convenience for the citizens of both countries.

Petro Poroshenko also said that in the near future there will be a meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Moldovan trade and economic Commission.

«We have agreed to sharply intensify political, economic, trade, cultural, customs, border and other types of cooperation between our countries», said the Head of state.
