Odessa, 02 NOVEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-October the total turnover of companies operating in the territory of Ust-Danube seaport, was 23.1 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, November 02, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

The press service reported that, according to operative data, the total turnover at the port in January-October amounted to 23.1 thousand tons, which is 60.4% more than in the same period of 2015, when turnover reached 14.4 thousand tons.

Liquid cargo handled 9.6 thousand tons (872.7% compared to January-October 2015); bulk dry cargo (grain) — 13.5 thousand tons (101.5%).

REFERENCE: Ust-Danube port is located in the southern part of Zhebriyansky bay of the Black Sea. The port was built in the late 1970s, primarily to serve the LASH transport system. Today, the port specializes in transshipment of goods from ships on the river for further transport on the Danube, and vice versa.

The total area of the port area is 15 hectares, water area — 60 hectares. Marine approach canal to the port of Ust-Danube has a length of 7 km and leads to three anchorages for large vessels where the working depth is now lost.
