Odessa, 04 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — According to operational data of SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority», in January-December 2016 the volume of cargo handled in seaports of Ukraine amounted to 131 million 998 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, January 04, in the press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

According to the press service, in 2016 the volume of cargo handling in seaports of Ukraine amounted to 131 million 998 thousand tons. Processing of export cargo amounted to 100 million 395 thousand tons (a decline of 3.3% from 2015), import — 16 million 013 thousand tons (down 10.8%). Transshipment of transit cargo totaled 10 million 370 thousand tons (65.2% from 2015), cabotage — 5 million 220 thousand tons (down 23.7%).

State port operators participating in the management structure of the Ministry of Infrastructure, processed 38 million 415 thousand tons (29.1% of total volume);

Other port operators (mostly private ownership) on all berths processed 93 million 583 thousand tons (70.9 % of the total). Port operators (mostly private ownership) processed through the berths of USPA 53 million 490 thousand tons (40.5% of total volume).

Processing of containers in sea ports increased by 24.1% and amounted to 588 thousand 542 TEU.
