NIKOLAEV, 05 JANUARY 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-December, the total turnover of the public and private stevedoring companies operating in the territory of Nikolaev seaport amounted to 22 million 372.98 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, January 05, in the press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

The press service reported that, according to operative data, the total turnover at the port for 12 months amounted to 22 million 372.98 thousand tons or 100.6% from the same period last year.

Liquid cargoes during this period, the port handled 2 million 470.82 thousand tons (140.9% against Jan-Dec 2015); bulk dry cargo — 523.01 16 million tons (98.3%); unitized cargo — 3 million 379.15 thousand tons (92.2 %).

REFERENCE: Sea port of Nikolaev is situated on the left Bank of the bend of Yuzhny Bug river, 35 km upstream from the confluence with the Dnieper estuary. The port is connected with the sea, Bugsko-Dneprovsky Limansky channel (BDLK) passing through the Dnepro-Bugsky estuary and the Yuzhny Bug river. It starts at Berezan island and extends for 44 miles to Nikolaev port. The channel consists of 13 tribes, 6 of them are in the Dnieper estuary, and the rest on the river Yuzhny Bug. Channel width is 100 m, depth — 11.2 m. Navigation in the port lasts all year round.
